Towels & File Cabinet

Yesterday's contribution:  I folded the towel pile on the bedroom floor and put them away.  Kitchen towels to the drawer in the kitchen.  Bath towels to the linen closet in the upstairs hallway.  Not big, but still progress.  Maybe this weekend, I'll tackle the big pile of socks?

This morning, I went on Craigslist and decided to look to see if I could find a 4 drawer wood file cabinet for our office.  I've looked a couple of times in the past and they've only turned up this warehouse that has a whole bunch of office furniture at "low, low prices."  But the furniture looks cheap.  This morning, however, someone had just posted at 9 a.m. that they were selling a four drawer solid oak file cabinet for only $75.  The two drawer ugly one at the consignment shop was $250.  A new one at the Amish store is about $450.  This was a deal.

I sent them an email because it said it held legal folders only and I really wanted one that could do both legal and letter.  No response.  We got showers and prepared to go out to lunch and the warehouse store.  I sent them another note saying we were leaving the house and they could call my husband's cell.  We were barely on the road when they called.  It only holds legal.  But it could work.  We went and looked at it.  Nice shape.  Worth it for what I was paying and for what it will be used for.  Plus all the drawers lock.  Nice feature.

They needed some time to empty the drawers.  We needed some time to make it fit in the minivan.  They lived 10 minutes from our house.  We got it in the minivan, went to lunch at Max & Erma's (yum, tortilla soup!), and then brought it home.  Unfortunately, it was from a smoker's home, so we're letting it air out in the garage for a few days before we bring it inside.  I'm so excited!  Does this count as my 1 thing for today?  I think it does.  And we were done before lunchtime!
