Yesterday, I'll admit it: I did nothing to make the house better. I worked late, I came home, went out to dinner, came home, put the kids to bed, and promptly fell asleep on the couch. Husband woke me and sent me to bed.
Today, I went to have some "me" time and got my hair cut, then shopped at Joann's and Fashion Bug. I bought some candy molds (don't tell Husband!), a cupcake decorating book, hooks to hang on the wall in the laundry room, and a pack of buttons to repair my stuffed snowman's eyes since they went missing (seriously, I hope nobody swallowed them).
When I returned home, Igor was out with his uncle Iago for lunch. Husband, Hannibal, & I went to lunch at bd's Mongolian BBQ. Afterward, we stopped at a store I've been trying to shop in for months. It's a home furnishing consignment shop called Trading Places. Every time I've tried to shop at this store, it's been closed. I had a day off, only to find it was closed on Mondays. I tried to go between Christmas & New Year's and it was closed for the holidays. Today, it was open.
We browsed the shop and saw a few interesting things, signed up for their email alerts, and told them what we were looking for. They had a filing cabinet, but it was only a two-drawer and we don't honestly have the money right now anyway. We left empty-handed, but will probably stop back often.
Once home, I fed my Facebook addiction. Then we went to Toys R Us to buy Hannibal a toy because he FINALLY pooped on the potty yesterday. Oh yeah, he did it willingly again today. Potty training is progressing well. Home again, Husband made "noodles and garbage" - a dish his father "invented" made up of mushrooms, green onions, bacon, and egg noodles. Then we put the kids to bed.
Husband showered and I folded some of the clothes on the floor. I did make some headway in clearing the floor in the Master Bedroom. Done with his shower, I dried him, redressed his wound, cleaned up, and then came downstairs and did the dishes. My reward? Time to blog for a few and a few games on Facebook. Then we'll watch the last episode of season one of The Tudors and go to bed.
Not an exciting life, but filled with lots of busy work. . .
