Lost Teeth

Igor recently lost his 4th tooth.  His first tooth he lost in kindergarten, at school.  They couldn't find it.  They sent home a wooden tooth fairy box shaped like a tooth and painted white with a hinged top that slides open to put a tooth in.  But no tooth.  So we wrote the tooth fairy a note.  The tooth fairy left a gold dollar and a note under his pillow.

The second tooth was lost at home, while brushing his teeth one night.  Another gold dollar under his pillow.

The third tooth was at dinner at home, while biting into something.  Another gold dollar under his pillow.

The fourth tooth was lost at school.  And he swallowed it.  It was a Thursday night and mom and dad were off to the Ohio State game, so we didn't take the time to help him write a note.  His uncle Iago watching them that night didn't remember either.  Husband thought that the tooth fairy might leave the gold dollar by the toilet (where the tooth might end up. . . ).  But in the end, the tooth fairy (whose humor is not quite the same as Husband's) left the gold dollar under his pillow.

In the morning, Igor comes down and says, "No note from the tooth fairy."  Mom says, "But did she leave you anything?"  "Yes, look!  A gold dollar.  Can I take it to school?"   "No."

Ah, tooth fairies and moms.
